Cool Horror Videos: Deleted Elm Street scene reveals Nancy had a sibling

A Nightmare on Elm Street Wes Craven deleted scene

Hardcore fans of Wes Craven's 1984 opus A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET will have heard of the apocryphal story of a pretty legendary deleted scene: When Nancy (Heather Langenkamp) finally discovers the truth about Freddy Krueger from her mother (Ronee Blakley), she discovers that she and her friends all had older siblings who were struck down by the notorious child killer before he was burned to death by the local parents.

The scene was a special feature on certain Laserdisc and VHS releases, but it's finally readily available for fans to see online! Honestly, the changes only last a couple seconds, but the impact is major. A massive chunk of ELM STREET mythology was washed from the movie with those ten seconds, for better or for worse.

Personally, I'm in favor of it being cut, because the idea that every single one of her friends having this same backstory seems a little silly, but it's certainly a huge boon to finally be able to see this clip for ourselves.

Check out the scene below!
