Cool Horror Videos: Psycho and Jaws animated as old school games

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Last July, YouTube user Toon Doom (a.k.a. Fernando Rangel) posted a video that condensed the story of Alfred Hitchcock's classic film PSYCHO down to just under four minutes by animating it as if it were an old school 16 bit video game. It's such a cool video that I'm including it in this article even though it's a year old, along with Toon Doom's latest release, which gives the video game treatment to another classic.

Almost one year to the day after putting his take on PSYCHO online, Toon Doom has posted a video that condenses Steven Spielberg's JAWS down to just under 3 minutes, animating the story to appear as though it was an 8 bit video game.

These are both really fun little shorts that are definitely worth checking out when you have a few spare minutes.

Toon Doom is based out of Brazil, so the character dialogue and options within these fake games are presented in Portuguese, but you can get the gist of it even if you're unfamiliar with the language, especially if you're familiar with the movies.
