Could Netflix be bringing us another visit to Hemlock Grove?

While the Netflix Original Series "Hemlock Grove" was admittedly a mixed-bag that certainly split audiences, I personally enjoyed it and was hoping to see a second season of the Eli Roth-produced series. If your opinion of "Hemlock Grove" was anything like mine then you'll be happy to learn that we just may find this little bit of news exciting.

The Hollywood Reporter conducted a lengthy interview with Netflix’s chief content officer Ted Sarandos and among the details discussed in the interview Sarandos talked about the future of "Hemlock Grove", stating...

We’re hearing the pitches for the second season with plotlines and storylines now.

While the show was a hit for Netflix's streaming service, genre fans were divided over "Hemlock Grove", but Sarandos doesn't see that as a bad thing.

Hemlock is much more polarizing; you either love it or hate it. The crossover for the people who love the show was American Horror Story, not The Vampire Diaries. It was incredibly popular in the Nordics because of the popularity of the Skarsgards [Bill Skarsgard stars] and in Latin America, where the horror genre is very big.

Sarandos also addressed what we may see from Netflix in the future in terms of genre entertainment, but it wasn't exactly the news we were hoping for.

The other thing I look at is the tween segment. Hemlock Grove is horror, but it’s not really CW horror; it’s much more adult than that. So I think that we’d like to look at some series in that category.

While most readers of AITH would rather see the more adult-oriented content, the revelation that Netflix may be pursuing more 'tween' fare isn't altogether a bad thing. Netflix is a business and it needs to make money, so if some of these 'tween' oriented shows are a hit and generates more revenue for Netflix, the more likely it’ll be that the company will take risks on horror subjects that are more up our alley.

So what do you think? Would you like to see more "Hemlock Grove"? Spit back below and give us your thoughts.
