CW's iZombie recasts another role with Molly Hagan to replace Nora Dunn

Another role has been recast for the CW's upcoming series "iZombie", based on the Vertigo comic book. A few weeks back we learned that Aly Michalka had been cast to replace Alexandra Krosney as Peyton, best friend of the main character Liv (Rose McIver). Now EW is reporting that Molly Hagan has been set to replace Nora Dunn as Liv's mother Eva Moore, a hospital administrator and overbearing mother who watches her ambitious daughter become a zombiefied couch potato who breaks off her engagement to every mom’s dream son-in-law.

Based upon characters created by Chris Roberson and Michael Allred, and published by DC Entertainment’s Vertigo imprint, iZOMBIE is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Spondoolie Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Rob Thomas (“Veronica Mars,” “Party Down,” “Cupid”), Diane Ruggiero-Wright (“Veronica Mars,” “The Ex List,” “That’s Life”), Danielle Stokdyk (“Veronica Mars,” “Party Down,” “Cupid”) and Dan Etheridge (“The Carrie Diaries,” “Veronica Mars,” “Party Down”). The pilot was directed by Rob Thomas.

Here's the synopsis:

A medical student who becomes a zombie joins a Coroner's Office in order to gain access to the brains she must reluctantly eat so that she can maintain her humanity but every brain she eats, she also inherits their memories and must now solve their deaths with help from the Medical examiner and a police detective.

The series also stars Malcolm Goodwin (“Breakout Kings”) as Clive Babineaux, newcomer Rahul Kohli as Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti, Robert Buckley (“One Tree Hill”) as Major Lilywhite, and David Anders (“Once Upon a Time,” “The Vampire Diaries”) as Blaine DeBeers.

In other "iZombie" news, EW has also shared that "Devious Maids" star and "Scrubs" alum Judy Reyes will guest star as Lola Abano, an artsy bohemian who becomes the prime suspect when her artist husband is murdered.

"iZombie" will premiere in midseason on The CW.
