Damon Lindelof talks where his Prometheus sequel was to take place

As most, or all of us, know, the original ALIEN prequel flick PROMETHEUS was co-written by Damon Lindelof aka the dude half-responsible for that f*cking TV show LOST. Lindelof was brought into the production after Jon Spaihts turned in his true ALIEN prequel called ALIEN: ENGINEERS.

Anyhow, as it turns out Damon was not asked to return on ALIEN: COVENANT - or maybe he was just busy with THE LEFTOVERS - but either way, the man was out and so were his plans for where the sequel to PROMETHEUS was set to go.

Now I shouldn't have to but I'm still going to warn readers that the following quote from Lindelof contains SPOILERS for Covenant. That said, I'm sure you've already seen Covenant, or you don't give a sh*t. Either way, again, I'm just warning your stupid friend Bryan so I don't have to get his misspelled hate-tweets later.

Damon Lindelof on PROMETHEUS 2:

I think that one of the conversations that we had at the end of Prometheus is, Shaw and David have basically locked in on the coordinates of the planet where the Engineers came from. What does that place look like? Ridley called it ‘Paradise’. What happens when they land on that planet? It doesn’t feel like they’ve gotten there yet in Covenant, Covenant felt like it maybe was a detour prior to them arriving at the place of origin so I don’t want to spoil any place that he might still be wanting to go, but the conversations that he and I had about where the story goes next were largely about the place where the Engineers were from and less the events of Covenant.

Sounds good to me. Truthfully, I would have taken pretty much anything different than what we eventually got in ALIEN: COVENANT. I'm kidding. I think. Covenant wasn't that bad. I only wish Lindelof would have returned (who woulda thought I'd ever type that) so we could have seen the true sequel to PROMETHEUS, instead of some Prometheus-Alien mashup.

Oh well. Lets us know what you think of Damon's comments here and ALIEN: COVENANT on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!
