Deadpool's Brianna Hildebrand joins season 2 of The Exorcist

Brianna Hildebrand

Returning actors Alfonso Herrera, Kurt Egyiawan, and Ben Daniels will be surrounded by a whole new cast in the second season of Fox's television series based on the horror classic THE EXORCIST. The first of the new cast members to be announced was John Cho. Now another new name has been revealed: Brianna Hildebrand has signed on as a season two regular.

Season two finds

Father Tomas Ortega (Herrera) and a newly collarless Marcus Keane (Daniels) out of Chicago and on the road, searching out evil. Across the Atlantic, Father Bennett (Egyiawan) attempts to weed out those within the Vatican who have turned against God. Ultimately, Tomas and Marcus are led to Andrew Kim (Cho), a former child psychologist who runs a group home for five at-risk foster children on a secluded private island off the coast of Seattle. When one of the children under Andrew’s care is targeted by a powerful force, the two priests head west, setting themselves on a collision course with hell.

Cho plays Sulu in the rebooted STAR TREK series, and Hildebrand has blockbuster experience of her own. She was Negasonic Teenage Warhead in DEADPOOL. On The Exorcist she will be playing a girl named Verity, one of the foster children living on Andrew Kim's private island. "Being close to 18 years old, her time in the house is coming to an end. Her tough exterior makes it seem as if she doesn’t care, when in reality, she would die for her siblings and Andrew." Anyone who saw DEADPOOL knows that Hildebrand can play "tough exterior" quite well.

Hildebrand also co-stars in the upcoming horror comedy TRAGEDY GIRLS, which is currently making the festival rounds. Festival showings aside, it's likely that The Exorcist is going to beat TRAGEDY GIRLS to screens belonging to genre fans - the show returns to Fox on Friday, September 29th.
