Death Race 3 revs up its engines and body count in first trailer

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

Though I’m a devotee of the original DEATH RACE 2000, I somehow missed Paul W.S. Anderson’s DEATH RACE remake when it hit theaters. That mistake also led me to miss its sequel/prequel that hit video store shelves a couple years back. I guess I’m going to have to hurry up and bone up on the series, as the trailer for DEATH RACE 3: INFERNO has just dropped.

This entry, produced once again by Anderson and Jeremy Bolt, is a continuation of the DEATH RACE 2’s storyline, this time taking the action to South Africa. Set for release this December, Roel Reine (DEATH RACE 2) is returning to the director’s chair while Luke Goss, Danny Trejo, Robin Shou and Ving Rhames are also reuniting for some modestly budgeted vehicular mayhem. Check out the trailer and synopsis below for a taste of the metal grinding, gun firing mayhem.

In this installment, convicted cop-killer Carl Lucas, aka Frankenstein, is a superstar driver in the brutal prison yard demolition derby known as Death Race. Only one victory away from winning freedom for himself and his pit crew, Lucas is plunged into an all-new competition more vicious than anything he has experienced before. Pitted against his most ruthless adversaries ever, Lucas fights to keep himself and his team alive in a race in South Africa ‘s infernal Kalahari Desert. With powerful forces at work behind the scenes to ensure his defeat, will Lucas’ determination to win at all costs mean the end of the road for him?
