Did you spot The Shining & IT easter eggs in The Dark Tower trailer?

Earlier this morning, the trailer for Stephen King's THE DARK TOWER hit and pretty much blew everyone away. I'm not going to lie, I teared up a bit at the above lines. Men also cry, Mr. Lebowski. Men also cry.

Anyhow, I was going through the trailer frame-by-frame as I am known to do and I came across two cool easter eggs. Both are related back to the Stephen King universe. One is for STEPHEN KING'S IT and the other is from THE SHINING.

Here is the screenshot including THE SHINING easter egg. As you see one Jake's therapist's desk there is a framed picture of The Overlook Hotel. Hurm. Does this mean Jake's therapist may be Danny Torrence all grown up? Maybe. It's a bit of a stretch, but not much.

Moving on we have the easter eggs concerning STEPHEN KING'S IT. As you can see by the screenshot below, at one point the little Jake kid stumbles across an old, dilapidated carnival out in the middle of the woods because this is Stephen King and old nasty carnivals exclusively take place in the middle of the godd*amn woods.

But look close and check out what the letters spell…

That's right, our old friend Pennywise. The Dancing Clown. Mr. Bob Grey. Very cool shite.

Now does this mean we will soon be getting an epic Stephen King crossover? Well, that's, you know, kinda what THE DARK TOWER novel series IS, so if we all get our butts into the seats in theaters this Summer (and not complain about the film's eventual PG-13 rating) then sure, we may very well get our epic King crossover film/TV series.

And I'm not talking about CASTLE ROCK either… I'm talking Idris Elba "heart-shooting" people in the back of the head for days, and years, and decades. Sounds like fun to me.
