Dimension grabs hold of Scott Stewart’s alien invasion flick Dark Skies

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

I really don’t see how this news differs much from what Eric reported earlier this month, but for what it’s worth – Dimension will distribute their own title in North America – the Scott Stewart alien-invasion picture DARK SKIES. The flick is jointly produced by Alliance and BlumHouse Productions.

While the logline is now said to be shrouded, we do know this about the project. It’ll focus on a 6-year-old boy who’s apparently been “marked” by an alien (living among us) for future abduction. Keri Russell (below) and Daniel Barrett are attached to star at this point.

About the acquisition, Bob Weinstein lauded:

“Jason (Blum) has done a masterful job over the past several years of breaking new ground and creating huge commercial successes in the supernatural and horror genres,. We are confident that Dark Skies will continue that success.”

Alliance Films will distribute DARK SKIES in Canada, in the UK (via its Momentum Pictures subsidiary) and in Spain (via Aurum).
