Last Updated on July 23, 2021

I know… It’s getting to be overkill. All this talk of a BIOSHOCK movie. We all know it’s probably never going to happen but I can’t help but hope. So whenever a news story breaks that involves this BIOSHOCK flick it catches my attention… Hence today’s article.

You see the folks over at IndieWire recently had a chance to chat with filmmaker Juan Carlos Fresnadillo about a few projects, including BIOSHOCK! The other projects Fresnadillo touches on are the upcoming HIGHLANDER and CROW reboots. So you know you’re going to want to check this out!

In regards to BIOSHOCK: “To be honest, by now, I’m completely out of that, and developing other stuff. Right now it’s on hold. The studio and the videogame company, they have to reach some kind of agreement about the budget and the rating.”

And when asked about HIGHLANDER, Fresnadillo responded: “I’m developing the possibility of making ‘Highlander.’ I find the concept very interesting, immortality as a curse. We’re using the materials of the universe, but this is some kid of reboot, since the story could use a new approach. Everything comes from the universe of the original film. There will be no aliens!”

The director also talks about why he left that dreaded CROW reboot: “We were so close. I really love him [Bradley Cooper] as an actor and a person. But it was an agenda thing. It didn’t match my agenda or [scheduling] so I decided to jump out.”

And lastly… Fresnadillo even talked 28 MONTHS LATER: “He [Danny Boyle] was very generous, and the perfect producer given that he’s a filmmaker as well. But I haven’t discussed the idea with him.”

So there you have it folks! A couple small updates on some possible upcoming genre flare. Whenever we hear more on either BIOSHOCK, 28 MONTHS LATER, THE CROW or HIGHLANDER we’ll be right here tell you about it.
