IMITATION GIRL

Arrow in the Head is the official media sponsor of this year's edition of the Philadelphia Unnamed Film Festival, which is set to be held at the Drake's Proscenium Theater in Center City Philadelphia from September 28th through October 1st. With the show coming up in just over a month, we have a very exciting EXCLUSIVE piece of news to share with you today: the announcement of the festival's first wave of films!

The festival kicks off on at 7pm on Thursday, September 28th with a screening of Natasha Kermani's dreamy sci-fi film IMITATION GIRL, which stars Lauren Ashley Carter. A Q&A with Kermani after the screening will be followed by the opening night reception, with drinks and hors d'oeuvres available for badge and ticket holders.

TERRIFIER

Arrow in the Head will then present the opening night screening of director Damien Leone's twisted killer clown movie TERRIFIER, which I wrote an 8/10 review of last month. If you like killer clowns, blood and guts, and AITH, I highly recommend that you be at PUFF for the TERRIFIER screening.

TRAGEDY GIRLS

The slasher comedy TRAGEDY GIRLS, described as "a mix between MEAN GIRLS and SCREAM" and starring DEADPOOL's Brianna Hildebrand and X-MEN: APOCALYPSE's Alexandra Shipp, will be showing on Friday, September 29th.

Friday's late night movie is ASSHOLES, from director Peter Vack. This sounds like one hell of a movie: it starts off as a "clever indie comedy before degrading into a mumblecore body horror that would make John Waters proud."

CHARISMATA

Saturday, September 30th will bring screenings of the "stylish, mind-bending serial killer thriller" CHARISMATA, a UK production making its Northeast Premiere, and the slasher film RUIN ME, which deals with "an immersive horror game in the woods" and is said to be reminiscent of the 1986 classic APRIL FOOL'S DAY. (I'm sold!)

Philadelphia's local talent will be highlighted on Sunday, October 1st, with a screening of the Icelandic supernatural drama RIFT, which is being distributed by the Philadelphia-based company Breaking Glass Pictures, a presentation of local shorts, and the world premiere of the Pennsylvania slasher film 100 ACRES OF HELL, starring Gene Stinksy. Cast and crew will be in attendance for a Q&A.
