Exclusive international poster for Rift, from the director of Child Eater

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

RIFT (Rökkur) is Icelandic director Erlingur Thoroddsen’s follow-up to his feature debut CHILD EATER, which was released earlier this year. You may not have heard of this film yet, but it should be making waves pretty soon: It was just announced that it will be playing Fantastic Fest in Austin later this month, in addition to the Brooklyn Horror and New Orleans Film Festivals. RIFT premiered as the closing film of the Goteburg International Film Festival in Sweden and had its North American premiere at Outfest in July, where it won the award for Artistic Achievement. Clearly a film to keep an eye on.

Today we can show you the first international poster for RIFT exclusively; take a look below and click on it to see a bigger version.

The story centers on Gunnar, who receives a phone call from his distraught ex-boyfriend Einar months after they break up and realizes there is more going on then he knew after he drives to the secluded cabin where Einar is holed up.

There, in stark and desolate Icelandic countryside, the two men must come to terms with their broken relationship. But someone else appears to be lurking outside the cabin.

Björn Stefánsson, Sigurður Þór Óskarsson, and Guðmundur Ólafsson star in RIFT. Breaking Glass Pictures acquired North American distribution rights to the picture in April and plans a limited theatrical release and festival run followed by a DVD/VOD release early in the fourth quarter.
