The Art of Alien Covenant Titan Books

My own feelings toward ALIEN: COVENANT aside, I'm always interested in books like the just-released THE ART AND MAKING OF ALIEN: COVENANT (GET IT HERE). This treat comes from Titan Books, which has also released such stellar titles in the past as The Art of The Strain, The Weyland-Yutani Report, The Art of Jock and many more. Featuring crisp behind-the-scenes photos of the making of this controversial film, as well as looks at the designs and sketches that helped bring Ridley Scott's vision to life during pre-production, the book will prove to be a must own for the cult following this movie is already gathering.

Officially, The Art and Making of Alien: Covenant…

explores all the major environments, creatures and technology that feature in Ridley Scott's return to the universe he created. It explores the intricate technology of the eponymous colony ship and its auxiliary vehicles, designs of the crew’s uniforms and weaponry, artwork of key locations and breathtaking alien art imagery in amazing detail. Packed with fascinating sketches, blueprints, diagrams, full-color artwork, final film frames and behind-the-scenes shots from the set, The Art and Making of Alien: Covenant is the ultimate literary companion to this highly anticipated movie event.

The visual-effects supervisor, Charley Henley, was keen for us to create puppets and practical effects of the birth sequences in an attempt to shoot as much of any human interaction with the visual effects as possible.

Putting the finishing touches to the Neomorph on set. Note the subtle differences to the classic Xenomorph, such as pronounced eye and ear sockets, as well as similarities, like the back pipes.
