Fans petition to cast Bill Moseley as new Freddy Krueger

Ah, the good old fan petition. You've got to love and respect the heart it takes to create such a petition over on Change.org. Hell, I've even created one myself to try and convince MTV to NOT reboot SCREAM THE TV SERIES for season three... but nothing came of that. Oh, well.

That said, I'm always for supporting fans who have their hearts in the right place, and today's petition is one all of us here at AITH can firmly stand behind. Yes, a fan wants none other than genre legend Bill Moseley to take over the role of Freddy Krueger should New Line and Warner Bros. ever feel the need for rebooting the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET series (again).

The Petition reads:

Horror fans want a say in the remakes big studios are putting out, including who is cast in a remake of the treasured films we grew up on. This includes the rumored remake (attempt #2) of A Nightmare on Elm Street. We are a collective of social media users on Twitter that have weighed in on the casting of the new Fred Krueger, and we feel that only Bill Moseley can portray this character to our expectations. To Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema: if you’re viewers mean anything to you, may we suggest listening to our devoted community? For your consideration, we the people nominate Bill Moseley to be cast as Fred Krueger (not Freddy) in any future “Elm Street” franchise film.

Now I don't know about you, but the idea of replacing Robert Englund as Freddy has always sat in a sour pit at the bottom of my stomach (even though I love Jackie Earle Haley). But if another reboot were to go the way of casting Mr. Moseley as the Springwood slasher, I'm thinking it'd be hard to catch a complaint with me.If you feel Moseley is the right choice to take over the iconic role you can sign the petition HERE.

Now, where's the backup petition to secure Kevin Bacon's Freddy should this whole Moseley-Krueger deal not work out?

Extra Tidbit: What do you say, Bill?
