Taissa Farmiga American Horror Story: Coven

The upcoming eighth season of the FX anthology series American Horror Story, a season called Apocalypse, is a crossover between two previous seasons, Murder House and Coven. If you thought the fact that actors from Murder House played different characters in Coven might present an issue for the crossover, it turns out there's nothing to worry about, as a couple actors who played different characters in those two seasons will be playing both of those characters in Apocalypse.

And it doesn't even matter if a character died in a previous season, they still have a chance to return in the new one.

One of the actors playing multiple roles in Apocalypse is Taissa Farmiga, who will be reprising not only her Coven role of Zoe Benson (Farmiga has already been shown as Zoe in a picture taken on the set of Apocalypse) but also her Murder House character Violet Harmon, the daughter of Ben and Vivien Harmon (who were played by Dylan McDermott and Connie Britton, who have also come back for Apocalypse).

Farmiga's co-star Sarah Paulson will be pulling triple duty in the new season. We have visual proof that Paulson is playing her Coven character Cordelia Fox. She'll also be playing her Murder House character Billie Dean Howard during the season, as well as bringing to life a mysterious, creepy new character named Venable, who can be seen in the promo below. As if playing three characters in one season weren't enough, Paulson also directed an episode.

Starring in Apocalypse with Farmiga, Paulson, McDermott, and Britton are Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Adina Porter, Cheyenne Jackson, Billy Eichner, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd, Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman, Kyle Allen, and Joan Collins, with Jessica Lange reprising her Murder House role of Constance Langdon and Cody Fern as an older version of the Anti-Christ child introduced in that season.

American Horror Story: Apocalypse is set to start airing on FX on Wednesday, September 12th.
