Fede Alvarez goes retro with his own Don't Breathe poster design

Don't Breathe Fede Alvarez Stephen Lang

The one year anniversary of the release of Fede Alvarez's home invasion horror movie DON'T BREATHE is coming up in a couple months, and I figured any news that might break regarding the movie at this point would be something about the sequel that Alvarez assures us is going to happen. But now Alvarez has kept the DON'T BREATHE conversation going in a different way, taking to his Twitter account to share a retro, 1980s-style poster for the film that he designed himself.

This poster, which can be seen in the embedded tweet below, is very cool, and I think it should have been officially released. DON'T BREATHE did have some good posters, but this one is definitely better than the most prominent DON'T BREATHE artwork, which is nothing but a red-tinted Jane Levy with her hands clamped over her mouth.

Starring Levy, Stephen Lang, Dylan Minnette, and Daniel Zovatto, DON'T BREATHE told the following story:

Three teens who get away with perfectly planned home robberies have set their sights on one last payout that will get them out of crime forever. Their target: a reclusive blind man with millions of dollars in hiding. But as soon as they break into his home, the tables are turned and they find themselves trapped and fighting for survival against a psychopath with secrets of his own.

I'm sure we'll be hearing more about the sequel, which producer Sam Raimi says is "the greatest idea for a sequel I've ever heard", at some point. For now, check this out:
