First still from Stephen King’s Cell features John Cusack and Sam Jackson

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Here’s the first still from CELL, the adaptation of Stephen King’s novel of the same name from director Tod Williams (PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 2). The image gives us a look at actors Isabelle Fuhrman, Samuel L. Jackson, John Cusack and Owen Teague; they aren’t doing anything exciting at this particular moment, but rest assured they’re in the midst of a horrendous apocalypse, so something assuredly dreadful is happening just off camera.

When a powerful signal is broadcast across mobile networks worldwide, cell phone users’ minds are instantly and dangerously re-programmed. Heading north through New England in search of his wife and son, Clay Riddell (Cusack) is joined by a group of survivors hoping to fend off the bloodthirsty and hyper-connected “phoners.”

The screenplay for CELL was penned by King and Adam Alleca. Expect it to hit sometime next year.
