There's a pilot in the works at NBC for a TV show titled Lincoln that is inspired by a series of novels written by Jeffery Deaver about forensic criminologist Lincoln Rhyme, a character who was played by Denzel Washington in the 1999 film THE BONE COLLECTOR. In recent weeks we have learned that Russell Hornsby is taking on the title of Lincoln Rhyme for the pilot and will be joined by Arielle Kebbel as NYPD officer Amelia Sachs, a character who was given a different last name and played by Angelina Jolie in THE BONE COLLECTOR.

Since the announcement of Kebbel's casting, four more actors have joined the cast of the pilot, which is set to be directed by Seth Gordon.

These new additions to the cast are Tate Ellington as Felix, "who is part of the CSI team and quick to speak his mind"; Ramses Jimenez as NYPD detective Eric Ortiz; Brooke Lyons (pictured above) as Kate, "an invaluable addition to the investigative team"; and Roslyn Ruff as Lincoln's caregiver Claire.

Written by VJ Boyd and Mark Bianculli, Lincoln will center on

legendary forensic criminologist Lincoln Rhyme, who was seriously injured during his hunt for the diabolic serial killer known as the Bone Collector. Called back into action when the killer re-emerges, Lincoln forms a unique partnership with Amelia Sachs, a young beat cop who helps him hunt the deadly mastermind while also taking on the most high-profile cases in the NYPD.

Also in the cast is Michael Imperioli as NYPD detective Rick Sellitto.

Boyd and Bianculli are executive producing Lincoln with Keshet's Avi Nir, Alon Shtruzman, Peter Traugott, and Rachel Kaplan. The show is being produced by Sony Pictures TV and Universal TV, in association with Keshet Studios.

Given the source material and the popularity of police procedural shows, I have a feeling Lincoln has a good chance of being ordered to series, but we'll have to wait and see how it goes.

Jimenez's previous credits include episodes of Fear the Walking Dead
