Goodbye Dinos: Ted Levine joins Jurassic World 2

The Silence of the Lambs Ted Levine

The sequel to 2015's JURASSIC WORLD appears to be coming together quite nicely, and is expected to start filming sometime next month with J.A. Bayona (THE ORPHANAGE, A MONSTER CALLS) taking over the helm from JURASSIC WORLD director Colin Trevorrow.

Trevorrow remains on board as an executive producer and has written the screenplay with Derek Connolly, a screenplay that does not yet have an official synopsis but has been described as being "a parable of the treatment animals receive today".

Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are set to reprise their JURASSIC WORLD roles and will be joined in the cast by Daniella Pineda as a new lead character, as well as Toby Jones, Rafe Spall, and Justice Smith.

That's all good, but now another actor has joined the cast, and this one immediately provides an exponential increase in the film's level of coolness.

Details on his character were not provided, but the great Ted Levine - the voice of Rusty Nail in JOY RIDE, the man who provided one of the most unforgettable moments in horror-thriller history with his "Goodbye Horses" dance in THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS - has signed on to play a part in JURASSIC WORLD 2 (or whatever it ends up being called). I'm now looking forward to this sequel with much greater anticipation than I was before, just knowing that we're going to be hearing Levine's voice in it.

JURASSIC WORLD 2 (we'll keep calling it that for now) is scheduled to reach theatres on June 22, 2018.
