Gravitas Ventures to release The Summoning in January

The Summoning Alberto G. Rodriguez Leila Almas

Having secured the worldwide rights to writer/director Alberto G. Rodriguez's THE SUMMONING, Gravitas Ventures has scheduled the supernatural horror film for a January 10, 2017 home video release.

Set and filmed in Texas, the story of THE SUMMONING was inspired by real reports of hauntings around the town of Sugar Land. That story centers on

law student Rachel Iverson, who places her life in danger while investigating the disappearance of another law student, Clayton Ward. Chief Lubbock assigns Detective Jonathan Silva to her case.

Eric Roberts, Leila Almas, Jaime Zevallos, Razaaq Adoti, Rheagan Wallace, Aaron Perilo, Katherine Castro, and Phil Adkins star in the film, which weaves real facts with elements of the supernatural. Among the filming locations were the Imperial Sugar Company refinery and the Richmond Police Department, both of which are rumored to be haunted. While at these locations, the cast and crew reported feeling an "eerie presence".

According to Adkins, "This movie has a lot of great elements to it, offering something for all film lovers. It is character-driven, has plenty of action, and is an emotionally moving story."

The trailer for THE SUMMONING can be seen on YouTube. If this looks and sounds like something you'd be interested in checking out, the Blu-ray can be pre-ordered on Amazon.
