Guillermo del Toro’s Crimson Peak will roll this winter

Guillermo del Toro is hard at work on his television show "The Strain" in Toronto at the moment, and it looks like he's going to be staying there for a little while longer. It has been announced that del Toro's next feature film, CRIMSON PEAK, will commence production this coming February at Pinewood Toronto Studios.

In addition to "The Strain", del Toro made PACIFIC RIM and MAMA in Toronto. The filmmaker even has a home there.

Starring Charlie Hunnam, Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain and Mia Wasikowska, CRIMSON PEAK is a "very adult, R-Rated movie" according to del Toro. While plot details aren't available, it's being billed a gothic thriller in the vein of THE HAUNTING and THE INNOCENTS. That sounds very, very good to me. Here's how IMDb describes the story:

Young author Edith Cushing discovers that her charming new husband is not who he appears to be.

CRIMSON PEAK is due to hit theaters in 2015.
