Horror comic Midnight Mass. gets another go at NBC

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

NBC attempted to bring Vertigo Comics’ MIDNIGHT, MASS. to the small screen back in 2009. Needless to say, it didn’t take, but that isn’t stopping them from giving it another go, albeit with a different creative team this time around.

Created by John Rozum, MIDNIGHT, MASS. is about a sophisticated, sexy, globe-trotting husband and wife paranormal investigator team — based in Midnight, Massachusetts — that takes on supernatural foes, macabre mysteries and the most frightening creature of all: marriage.

Snow White And The Huntsman co-writer Evan Daugherty will write the adaptation, produced by Warner Bros. TV and Bill Gerber‘s Gerber Pictures, which has received a script commitment.

As I noted years ago, this concept sounds like a cross between MR. AND MRS. SMITH and “The X-Files.” Remains to be seen if TV audiences are down with such a thing.

We’ll keep an eye on this one’s development and let you know if a cast begins to assemble.
