I, Frankenstein hits a major delay; Summit pushes back flick seven months

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Stuart Beattie’s I, FRANKENSTEIN has long held a release date of FEBRUARY 22, 2013, and that’ll be here before you know it. However, it’s already September and we haven’t heard a peep from the project as far as marketing goes: no promo poster, no teaser trailer, nothing. Is there a problem with the flick? We don’t know, but what we do know is that you’d better get your hands on some white-out if you have plans to see Frankie in action on 2/22.

Summit Entertainment has decided to delay the film’s release; a major delay, at that. Now the flick owns the SEPTEMBER 13, 2013 slot, which is something of a dead-zone on the movie calendar. (Although the RESIDENT EVIL movies have had good luck with mid-September openings.) In I, FRANKENSTEIN’s place goes SNITCH, an action-thriller starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

I, FRANKENSTEIN is a modern-day epic: Frankenstein’s creature, ADAM, has survived to present day due to a genetic quirk in his creation. Making his way to a dark, gothic metropolis, he finds himself caught in an all-out, centuries old war between two immortal clans.

I, FRANKENSTEIN stars Aaron Eckhart, Bill Nighy and Yvonne Strahovski (pictured below).
