It Comes at Night hits Blu-ray this September

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

One of the top horror flicks I was looking forward to this year was IT COMES AT NIGHT.

Then I began to hear everyone involved with the film start calling it "Post-Horror" and "Elevated Horror" and I became agitated. Then I saw this article, were Edgerton said he "hoped the film will help improve horror's reputation" and I was all but one more comment away from becoming Frank outside the premiere.

While pretentious (bull sh*t) terms like those above might not have kept me from seeing the film in theaters – support original R-rated horror, you know – the word-of-mouth that started to seep out from screening turned me off almost completely.

That said, I still may check out the film on Blu-ray it hits on September 12th.

Or, more specifically, VOD as the newly announced Blu-ray seems to sport only ONE single special feature called “Human Nature: Creating It Comes at Night” Featurette. Not even an audio commentary to be found… Oh, well.

What did you think of IT COMES AT NIGHT? Did you see it in theaters? What do you think of the terms "Post-horror" and "Elevated Horror"? Do they f*cking bug you as much as they bug me?

Let us know all your thoughts on these questions on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!

IT COMES AT NIGHT hits Blu-ray & DVD September 12th.
