Yesterday we learned that Saxon Sharbino had joined the ever-growing cast of MGM and Fox 2000's reboot/remake of POLTERGEIST, joining the previously announced Kennedi Clements, Kyle Catlett, Jared Harris, Sam Rockwell and Rosemarie Dewitt, and now The Hollywood Reporter is sharing that "Hung" actress (hmmm…that just doesn't sound right, does it?) Jane Adams has signed on to the Gil Kenan-helmed film.
The story follows the Bowen family, whose life is suddenly disrupted after a supernatural force takes over their home and begins terrorizing them.
Filming began on September 23rd so this one is officially underway. Adams will play a parapsychologist called in to help the family find their daughter and identify the supernatural forces at work in their home. Beatrice Straight played the part in the original.
Kenan is directing from a script by David Lindsay-Abaire. Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert are producing via their Ghost House Pictures banner with Roy Lee. Nathan Kahane is executive producing.
