Jaws board game will allow one player to be the shark

Jaws

Yesterday we brought the news that Universal is teaming with Ravensburger for an official Universal Monsters board game called Horrified. But that's not the only genre-related board game Universal and Ravensburger have in the works. The film studio has also given the gaming company the go-ahead to create a "tabletop strategy" board game based on Steven Spielberg's classic blockbuster JAWS.

The board game will allow one player to be the shark, while up to three other players will take on the roles of the film's heroes Brody, Hooper, and Quint. The gameplay will involve two acts.

In Act 1, the game is played on a side of the board that depicts Amity Island.

The shark prowls secretly through the waters around the island, attacking swimmers and avoiding capture. Meanwhile the other players try to pinpoint the shark's location while also saving the tourists.

Act 2 begins when the other players locate the shark. The board gets flipped over so players can

experience the climactic battle aboard the slowly sinking Orca. Brody, Hooper, and Quint are well-armed… but they don't know where the great white will strike next!

Well, this sounds amazing to me. The Jaws game is expected to be released in late June (just in time for the 4th of July tourist season!) and will be selling for $30.
