Joe Lynch returns to horror with Taste

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

I am a big Joe Lynch fan. I have followed the man ever since seeing the super-awesome sequel WRONG TURN 2: DEAD END years back. Henry Rollins killing cannibals is just my idea of fun times.

Anyhow, since then Lynch has dabbled here and there with the horror genre, with a short in CHILLERAMA, and you could even say his comedy KNIGHTS OF BADASSDOM and his action flick EVERLY were both borderline horror flicks anyhow.

That said, Lynch is making his full return to horror after his newest action (and, again, borderline horror) flick MAYHEM is getting all the good reviews and buzz, with TASTE. The new film is said to be a straight-up horror flick written by David Cohen, who you may recognize as the writer of the Luke Evans WWF movie NO ONE LIVES.

TASTE shoots in Los Angeles this summer and centers around a chef at risk of becoming dinner himself. You can check out the full synopsis below as well as Lynch's thoughts on his return to horror. After that let us know what your favorite Joe lynch flick is on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!

TASTE synopsis:

When a young chef-on-the-rise is invited to cook for a revered master’s private supper club, what at first seems like a career-launching opportunity soon turns deadly with the discovery that she and her husband are at risk of becoming dinner themselves.

Joe Lynch on TASTE:

I’ve been dying to direct something darker in the genre and when I read David’s script, which had a fantastic take on the current foodie/haute cuisine culture, I was pretty much salivating, pun intended. I’m thrilled to be working with Penchant to bring this fantastically twisted and exciting tale to life and make people rethink what’s for dinner.

Again, TASTE is set to begin shooting in Los Angeles this summer.

Samara Weaving stars in Lynch's MAYHEM.
