Josh Stewart joins Netflix’s The Punisher season 2

I have been a horrible PUNISHER fan this past year as I have still haven't watched so much as a single episode of the first season of the standalone series that I was super excited was coming our way. I will make plans to remedy that as soon as possible but until then I'll just move on to covering news regarding the show's upcoming second season.

And speaking of which, today we learned via Deadline that THE PUNISHER S2 has added three new names to the cast with Josh Stewart (THE COLLECTION) leading the pack. The other two names announced were Floriana Lima, who is best known for her role on SUPERGIRL, and Giorgia Whigham, who will be featured as Beth in the upcoming rebooted third season of MTV's SCREAM: THE TV SERIES.

Stewart will play John Pilgrim, "a man whose calm exterior belies a ruthless interior. Despite having left behind a life of violence, circumstances will force him to use his old skills and bring him into Frank Castle’s world."  With Lima as Krista Dumont, "a smart, compassionate and driven psychotherapist for military veterans" and Whigham as Amy Bendix, "a street-smart grifter with a mysterious past."

THE PUNISHER is executive produced by Steve Lightfoot along with Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory and stars Jon Bernthal, Ben Barnes, Amber Rose Revah, Jason R. Moore, Josh Stewart, Floriana Lima, and Giorgia Whigham. While THE PUNISHER S2 doesn't have a release date yet, you can stream all 13 episodes of Season 1 on Netflix.
