Keep your appointment with The Wicker Man: The Final Cut with this new trailer

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Back in May we told you about StudioCanal's efforts to find the original film materials relating to Robin Hardy's cult horror classic THE WICKER MAN, the 1973 tale about a policeman (Edward Woodward) sent to a remote island village in search of a missing girl whom the townsfolk claim never existed. With this year marking the 40th anniversary of the films release, StudioCanal set out to find the missing film material so they could release the “most complete version of the film possible”, and late last month we finally got a look at the Blu-ray art and details (special features, etc.) of what to expect when it finally hits shelves on October 14th in the UK (after a brief run in theaters).

Today we have a look at StudioCanal's trailer for the release of THE WICKER MAN: THE FINAL CUT which gives us a look at how great this new print is going to look. We're super-stoked about seeing this version that prompted director Robin Hardy to state "It fulfills my vision."

Not to worry, fans in the US. Below we've got a list of the dates and cities where you can check this one out on the big screen in the US before it hits Blu-ray later this year.

September 27 – October 3 NEW YORK, NY IFC Center
October 25 – 31 CHICAGO, IL Music Box Theatre
October 28 – 31 PITTSBURGH, PA Pittsburgh Filmmakers at Regent Square

November 1 – 7 LOS ANGELES, CA Landmark Theatres – Nuart
November 8 – 14 PHILADELPHIA, PA Landmark Theatres – Ritz at the Bourse

As for the Blu-ray, here's what you can expect: THE WICKER MAN Blu-ray will be a three disc set, with the first disc including "The Final Cut" (HD), the UK theatrical Cut (HD) & the Director’s Cut (HD but with seamless branching to extra scenes in SD only) & audio commentary for Director’s Cut. The second disc is said to include supplemental features, but they have not yet been detailed. Disc 3 will contain the movie soundtrack. The Blu-ray will hit the UK on October 14th.
