Kill List director Ben Wheatley producing body-swapping thriller Whitaker

Ben Wheatley (KILL LIST, SIGHTSEERS) has added another flick to his already busy slate: a body-swapping thriller called WHITAKER, which will be seking distribution at this month’s European Film Market. Sales outfit The Salt Company is handling it.

Commercials and shorts director Jim Hosking will be making his feature debut on WHITAKER, which deals with a maverick scientist who discovers a way to swap bodies with unwitting victims leading to terrifying consequences.

The flick plans on shooting in the summer and is casting now.

Here’s the full synopsis: Whitaker has found a way to transfer his mind into a younger man’s body, which he uses to seduce a nurse at the hospital where he “borrows” new bodies for his experiments. Intoxicated by success and newfound vigour, he fails to note that each time he transfers, he leaves a fragment of his psyche behind in the host. This fragment starts to grow into a new personality: raw, curious, physically stronger and entirely lacking in compassion or moral compass. Soon whitaker finds himself in a battle to the death with… himself.

Sounds plenty bizarre, something with a RE-ANIMATOR vibe. We can roll with that.
