Lionsgate acquires abduction thriller The Mooring

Lionsgate and Grindstone Entertainment have snatched up THE MOORING, a killer-stalks-teens flick. We can’t ever have enough of those…

Here’s the synopsis: Nancy runs a program to help technology dependent teens. When she takes her new group, a bunch of teenage girls, up the shadowy St Joe River on a houseboat she doesn’t suspect what is about to unfold. They come across an odd couple, who moor beside them. When their boat breaks down the girls are stranded. Not long after, they find themselves on the run, being pursued through thick forests by a brutal and determined killer.

Hallie Todd, Thomas Wilson Brown, Karli Blalock, Anna Goodwin, Larissa Hayden, Lilli Hendrickson, Erin McIntosh, Olivia Meyer, Hailee Naccarato, Jessica Pepeli, Katie Simpson and Brooklyn Tate star in the film, which was written by Glenn Withrow, Hallie Todd and Ivy Withrow; Glenn also directed.

Lionsgate Home Entertainment will release the thriller in the U.S. and Canada, though no release date has been announced yet.
