M. Night Shyamalan’s The Visit acquired by Universal

M. Night Shyamalan’s latest top secret flick, now called THE VISIT (formerly known as SUNDOWNING), has ben acquired by Universal Pictures, reports Deadline. The film, a micro-budget thriller without any big names (other than the director himself), was co-produced by Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Productions.

The Visit focuses on a brother and sister who are sent to their grandparents’ remote Pennsylvania farm for a weeklong trip. Once the children discover that the elderly couple is involved in something deeply disturbing, they see their chances of getting back home are growing smaller every day.

Universal will release THE VISIT on September 11, 2015. The film stars Kathryn Hahn, Ed Oxenbould, Erica Lynne Marszalek, Peter McRobbie, Olivia DeJonge, Deanna Dunagan, Benjamin Kanes, Jon Douglas Rainey, Brian Gildea, Shawn Gonzalez, Richard Barlow, Steve Annan, and Michael Mariano.
