Samurai vs. vampires? Let the horror mash-ups continue…

Variety is reporting that Mandalay Pictures is teaming with Heroes and Villains Entertainment and Top Cow Productions to adapt upcoming comic BUSHIDO: THE WAY OF THE WARRIOR to the big-screen. No writers, directors or stars have yet been attached to the project, but we’re sure to keep you in the loop as those decisions are made.

Story, set in feudal Japan, revolves around a shipwrecked boy who grows up as an outcast but leads a brave band of Samurai against a bloodthirsty horde of vampires in order to save Japan from certain doom.

Not too bad I suppose. Thing is, these mash-ups aren’t faring too well, be it COWBOYS AND ALIENS or ABRAHAM LINCOLN VAMPIRE HUNTER. Still, seeing old time sword play against a legion of bloodsuckers sounds too enticing to pass up. Let’s hope the right people are brought in to make this sucker hum.

That’ll do!
