Man’s Best Friend Blu-ray coming soon from Scream Factory

"Nature created him. Science perfected him. But no one can control him."

I don't know about you, but I'm always in the mood for a good old killer dog flick. When the subgenre is mentioned, the first film that usually springs to a horror fan's mind is director Lewis Teague's adaptation of Stephen King's CUJO starring Dee Wallace. But there is another beloved killer pup motion picture out there that we all know and love: MAN'S BEST FRIEND.

And if you're a fan of the film like this guy, then you'll be chomping at the mailman's ass to know that Scream Factory will be bringing the 1993 “CUJO meets THE TERMINATOR" horror/sci-fi hybrid to Blu-ray for the first time this March!

The film stars Lance Henriksen (ALIENS, PUMPKINHEAD) and Ally Sheedy (SHORT CIRCUIT, THE BREAKFAST CLUB) and begins

When an ambitious news journalist breaks into a genetic research facility, she uncovers the biggest story of her career and unleashes the lab's most dangerous experiment: Max – a genetically enhanced guard dog with a vicious killer instinct. Superior sight, hearing, strength, and intelligence make him faster, stronger, and smarter than almost any other animal alive – and deadlier. Without the neuropathic drugs needed to curb his aggressive nature, his predatory urge runs out of control ... and once he tastes blood, nothing can stop him.

Extras are in progress and will be announced on a later date but until then you can check out the Blu-ray cover art below, which features the original theatrical poster design. The reverse cover will have the art that most remember from the prior DVD and VHS releases.

The film was written and directed by John Lafia (FREDDY'S NIGHTMARES, CHILD'S PLAY 2) and co-starred Robert Costanzo, Frederic Lehne, John Cassini, and J.D. Daniels. The film will be hitting Blu-ray via Scream Factory on March 12th, 2019. Will you snag a copy? Let us know below!
