Mercedes Mason

The latest member to join the cast of AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead is QUARANTINE 2 star Mercedes Mason, reports EW. While we know that Mason will be a series regular, details on her role are being kept under wraps. She joins recently announced Elizabeth Rodriguez (Orange is the New Black), along with the previously announced core cast of Cliff Curtis, Kim Dickens (GONE GIRL), Frank Dillane, and Alycia Debnam Carey (INTO THE STORM).

Fear the Walking Dead will take place far away from the Atlanta, Georgia setting of “The Walking Dead” in the streets of Los Angeles, amid the early days of the infection.

Series creator Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero and David Alpert from The Walking Dead are executive producers of the new series, which is being produced by AMC Studios. Dave Erickson (“Marco Polo,” “Sons of Anarchy”), who co-created and co-wrote the pilot with Kirkman, is an executive producer and showrunner. Adam Davidson will direct the pilot episode.

A second season is already planned and will air sometime in 2016. We'll have more on Fear The Walking Dead as we get it!
