More cast members announced for Stephen King series Mr. Mercedes

With David E. Kelley's ten-episode series adaptation of the Stephen King novel Mr. Mercedes now filming in Charleston, South Carolina, AT&T Audience Network and Sonar Entertainment have put out a press release that reveals more members of the cast, which we already knew includes Brendan Gleeson as retired police officer Bill Hodges, Harry Treadaway as killer Brady Hartsfield, Jharrel Jerome as Hodges' teenage cohort Jerome Robinson, Mary-Louise Parker as the strong-willed Janey Patterson, Holland Taylor as Hodges' prickly neighbor Ida Silver, and Kelly Lynch as Brady's complicated mother.

Co-starring with them will be Scott Lawrence as Detective Peter Dixon, Robert Stanton as Anthony "Robi" Frobisher, Ann Cusack as Olivia Trelawney, Justine Lupe (pictured above) as Holly Gibney, and Breeda Wool as Lou Linklatter.

These names don't mean much to me since I haven't read Mr. Mercedes yet, but those of you who have read the novel can now match the names you know with the faces of the actors who will be bringing King's characters to life.

Kelley serves as showrunner on Mr. Mercedes, which is being directed by Lost veteran Jack Bender. Kelly and Bender are also executive producing the show with Marty Bowen and Wyck Godrey of Temple Hill Entertainment.

Mr. Mercedes tells the story of

demented killer Hartsfield, who taunts retired police detective Hodges with a series of lurid letters and emails, forcing the ex-cop to undertake a private, and potentially felonious, crusade to bring the killer to justice before he is able to strike again.

The series will premiere on Audience Network this fall.
