Morgan Freeman logs in for Wally Pfister’s Transcendence

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

The cast of cinematographer Wally Pfister’s directorial debut continues to grow; the film has so far brought on board Johnny Depp, Rebecca Hall, Paul Bettany and Kata Mara – quite an attractive ensemble, thus far. Now Pfister is bringing in a veteran big gun whom he’s quite familiar with.

Morgan Freeman, who Pfister photographed in all three BATMAN movies, has joined the sci-fi brain-teaser TRANSCENDENCE. As the entire project is being kept under wraps, we have no clue who Freeman will be playing, but it’s a safe bet he’ll be dishing out some sage advice and wisdom tho whoever needs it.

Written by Jack Paglen and Annie Marter, TRANSCENDENCE is (apparently) about…

… a scientist whose brain is uploaded into a computer after he’s murdered by anti-technology terrorists.

Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas are executive producing for their old pal Wally; TRANSCENDENCE will open on April 25, 2014.
