Naomi Watts to star in Blumhouse series Wolves and Villagers

A few months ago, we shared the news that Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions, Sam Raimi, and Guillermo del Toro are all making shows for the forthcoming subscription short-form video platform Quibi, which Jeffrey Katzenberg and Meg Whitman have raised $1 billion to launch, with the plan being to pay $150,000 per minute for shows that have episodes in the 10 minute range.

At that time, all we knew about the project being produced by Blum was that it was called Wolves and Villagers and was said to be in the vein of FATAL ATTRACTION. That's still all we know about the concept, but now we know who will be starring in the series:

Naomi Watts has signed on to play the lead role in Wolves and Villagers. So I am now very interested in watching this show.

Stuart Blumberg is writing the series and executive producing it alongside Blum.

According to Whitman, the shows on Quibi will be designed for people to watch in their "in-between moments".

You leave the house every morning with a little TV in your pocket. It's called your smart phone. During the day, you have these in-between moments. 10 minutes here, 15 minutes there, where you want to see something great."

All of the shows being made for Quibi are expected to be 2 to 4 hours in length when their short episodes are added up.
