Netflix's Sabrina the Teenage Witch reboot gets teaser & poster

Netflix's gritty reboot of SABRINA THE TEENAGE WITCH (yeah, it's a thing and it's 100% real) called CHILLING ADVENTURES OF SABRINA is headed our way sooner rather than later. And so it's fitting today that we have just received the upcoming series' teaser poster and teaser trailer. Both come to us via the rebooted series' showrunner Roberto Aguirre Sacasa over on Twitter.

You can check out the teaser poster and the teaser trailer below. Both are a bit on the minimalistic side, but that's too be expected at this point, I guess. All the same, they are pretty cool and moody as hell so give them a look-see. Personally, I'm a fan of new Sabrina, Kiernan Shipka after her chilling turn in Oz Perkins' THE BLACKCOAT'S DAUGHTER. If you haven't seen that flick, check it out ASAP!

The origin and adventures of Sabrina the Teenage Witch as a dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror, the occult and, of course, witchcraft. Tonally in the vein of Rosemary’s Baby and The Exorcist, this adaptation finds Sabrina wrestling to reconcile her dual nature — half-witch, half-mortal — while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit.

The series stars Kiernan Shipka as Sabrina, Ross Lynch as Harvey Kinkle, Miranda Otto as Sabrina's disciplinarian aunt Zelda; Lucy Davis as her nurturing aunt Hilda; Jaz Sinclair as her best friend Rosalind Walker; Chance Perdomo as her warlock cousin Ambrose; Michelle Gomez as Sabrina's teacher Mary Wardell, who becomes possessed by the devil's handmaiden Madam Satan; Richard Coyle as Father Blackwood, High Priest of the Church of Night and Dean of the Academy of the Unseen Arts, a man with a "terrifying dark agenda"; Bronson Pinchot as Baxter High's villainous puritanical principal George Hawthorne; and Tati Gabrielle as Prudence, leader of a trio of witches called the Weird Sisters and a character who has a possibly life-threatening grudge against Sabrina.

Netflix has ordered two seasons of this new show, with each season consisting of ten episodes. The series is said to be tonally in the vein of ROSEMARY'S BABY and THE EXORCIST.

Extra Tidbit: Kiernan Shipka was awesome in THE BLACKCOAT'S DAUGHTER.
