New still from Andrew Niccol’s The Host shows off Saoirse Ronan’s pretty eyeballs

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

It’s obvious that there’s just something about eyeballs in Andrew Niccol’s adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s THE HOST; we saw some wild peepers in the teaser trailer for the flick and now we’re getting a gander at Saoirse Ronan’s eerie blue eyes in this new photo from the film. Admittedly, it’s not a very exciting image, but this sucker is just under a year away, so we’ve got time before we get to show you the real goods.

THE HOST is a riveting story about the survival of love and the human spirit in a time of war. Our world has been invaded by an unseen enemy. Humans become hosts for these invaders, their minds taken over while their bodies remain intact. Most of humanity has succumbed. When Melanie (Ronan), one of the few remaining “wild” humans, is captured, she is certain it is her end. Wanderer, the invading “soul” who has been given Melanie’s body, was warned about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the glut of senses, the too-vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn’t expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.

Directed by Andrew Niccol, THE HOST stars Saoirse Ronan, Max Irons, Jake Abel, Diane Kruger, William Hurt and Frances Fisher. It lands in theaters everywhere MARCH 29, 2013.
