New The Woman In Black Quad boasts an old school Hammer Horror look

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

I am pretty eager to check out THE WOMAN IN BLACK, it genuinely looks creepy and atmospheric. I miss that old school feel when it comes to horror films like this, plus it stars Daniel Radcliffe whom I have adored since the first HARRY POTTER film. I am really curious to see how he holds up now that the franchise is behind him.

So far the posters and advertising material have been a bit lacklustre; mostly they looked overly photoshopped. However a step in the right direction was made with this new one, as it echoes the classic days of Hammer Horror! It resembles the Quads that audiences would see with classic Hammer films like the DRACULA and FRANKENSTEIN series. Now this completely sells me on the film, I would see it based solely on this quad, and when advertising material can do that, they’ve done it right.

The story follows a young lawyer, Arthur Kipps (Daniel Radcliffe), who is ordered to travel to a remote village and sort out a recently deceased client’s papers. As he works alone in the client’s isolated house, Kipps begins to uncover tragic secrets, his unease growing when he glimpses a mysterious woman dressed only in black. Receiving only silence from the locals, Kipps is forced to uncover the true identity of the Woman in Black on his own, leading to a desperate race against time when he discovers her true intent.

Daniel Radcliffe stars alongside Shaun Dooley, Cathy Sara, Mary Stockley, Roger Allam, Liz White, Lucy May Barker, Tim McMullan, Alisa Khazanova, Daniel Cerqueira, David Burke and Victor McGuire. Look for the film in theaters February 3rd, and the UK will get it on February 10th.
