New writer boards Vin Diesel's The Last Witch Hunter

It appears that THE LAST WITCH HUNTER script is in need of a quick polish as Variety reports that Summit Entertainment is revving up its Vin Diesel fantasy-actioner THE LAST WITCH HUNTER by tapping DALLAS BUYERS CLUB writer Melisa Wallack to rewrite the script. Other than that, though, not much else has been happening with this one.

Diesel has been attached to the project since last year and stars as an immortal witch hunter partnering with a witch to stop the covens of New York City from unleashing a plague on humanity. Breck Eisner is still on board to direct with Mark Canton producing via his Mark Canton Productions banner along with Bernie Goldmann and Diesel via his One Race Entertainment banner.

Erik Feig, Geoff Shaevitz and Matthew Janzen will oversee the project for the studio. We'll clue you guys in on more once we get it!
