Pascal Laugier's Incident in a Ghostland new trailer & release date

I'm one of those people who was blown away by writer-director Pascal Laugier's "torture porn" film MARTYRS back in 2008. I'm even one of the world's few mega-fans of his follow up THE TALL MAN starring Jessica Biel. And thus, I'm counting down the days until I can check out Laugier's new film INCIDENT IN A GHOSTLAND.

And today we have word that the film will be hitting theaters and On Demand June 22nd. Not only that, but we have the poster and trailer for the film for your viewing pleasure and you can check it out below. Crystal Reed, Anastasia Phillips, Emilia Jones, Taylor Hickson and Mylène Farmer star in the film which begins when:

Following her aunt’s death, Colleen and her daughters inherit her house. However, during their first night in their new home, murderers enter the home, putting Colleen in a situation where she must fight to save her daughters’ lives. When the girls suffer a terrible trauma during the night, their disparate personalities diverge even further. The eldest daughter, Beth, is said to become a famous horror author with a perfect family and life in Los Angeles, while her sister, Vera, can’t cope, and loses her mind faced to an unshakable sense of paranoia. Sixteen years later the daughters and mother reunite at the house where Colleen and Vera continue to reside. It is then that strange events begin to take place.

The film was shown in competition at the Festival international du film fantastique de Gérardmer, where it won three awards, including the Grand Prize before gathering up its fair share of controversy following one of the film's lead actresses getting her face disfigured accidentally on-set. Its a horrific story (with horrific) images) but I guess you might want to know the story before you make the decision to see the film. Beware though, its pretty gnarly.

Anyhow... Again, you can check out the poster and new trailer below and then mark your calendars for the film's release as it will hit theaters and On Demand June 22nd.
