The Dark Heart of Jason Voorhees

Back in November, we shared the news that director Nick Hunt is planning to craft a feature-length documentary on the most unique entry in the entire FRIDAY THE 13TH franchise, JASON GOES TO HELL: THE FINAL FRIDAY. That documentary is expected to go into production this summer, and in anticipation of its start date its poster has been unveiled online.

Hand drawn by artist Chris Fischer, the poster for the documentary, THE DARK HEART OF JASON VOORHEES: THE MAKING OF THE FINAL FRIDAY, can be seen in all its glory below.

Promising to get "up close and personal with all of the people that were involved in making the film", the doc has the following description:

Through interviews and behind the scenes details, you will understand the unique landscape the series was in at the time, having just changed studios and already being on the road to the eventual Freddy vs. Jason film which wouldn’t see release for another 10 years. You will see the unusual hand director Adam Marcus was dealt and the immense pressure and scrutiny which was placed on him during production. And you will see genre greats, both who were in the film and not, weigh in on Jason’s journey to hell.

In Jason Goes to Hell, you learned secrets about Jason you never knew before! In The Dark Heart of Jason Voorhees, you will understand what was and what could have been about The Final Friday!

JASON GOES TO HELL director Adam Marcus and his partners at Skeleton Crew Productions are producing the documentary with Johnny Macabre.

JASON GOES TO HELL hit at the right time in my life to earn a special place in my heart, so I'm very much looking forward to hearing what behind the scenes stories this documentary will unearth.
