Real Weird: Creepy cemetery clown freaks out Chicago couple

Apparently we won't have to wait as long as we thought for that IT reboot. The picture you see above is from cell phone footage shot by a Chicago woman who was driving past the Rosehill Cemetery at night (already a bad idea) and saw a clown scaling the fence. She pulled out her phone, snapped a photo, and then shot a video of the clown waving creepily at her from his vantage point near the headstones.

No complaints of vandalism were made and cemetery officials refused to comment, but the clown's motives clearly weren't just casual: the cemetery fence is seven feet high! Says the woman:

I mean, this was somebody putting forth a lot of effort — and being really weird.

Maybe this was just someone playing into last year's trend. People have dressed as clowns to freak out random passersby as far apart as California and New York. And perhaps American Horror Story: Freak Show's widely publicized Twisty the Clown character reignited interest in the activity. Maybe the guy had all the episodes stored up on his DVR and just got to them now because he couldn't get past "Life On Mars" the first time around. That's a lot of maybes.

Maybe there's some things we're just not meant to know. Check out CBS Local News' investigation into the story below.
