Rebecca Ferguson joins Men in Black reboot

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Rebecca Ferguson is quickly becoming one of my favorite actresses out there. Last month I developed a bit of a crush on her while editing the MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: ROGUE NATION Kill Counter video (which you can check out below and right here). And then almost immediately caught her in the subpar sci-fi scary movie LIFE co-starring Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal.

Ferguson is always one of the best aspects of the films she chooses to star in – and that's saying some considering she's usually up against the TOP talent Hollywood has to offer. She can be seen next in director Mike Flanagan's (HUSH, GERALD'S GAME) upcoming sequel to Stephen King's THE SHINING, DOCTOR SLEEP.

But today we have even more casting news regarding the actress as Deadline reports she has just signed on to star alongside Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson in director F. Gary Gray's reboot of MEN IN BLACK.

Hemsworth, Ferguson, and Thompson's co-stars in the spin-off include Liam Neeson, Kumail Nanjiani, Rafe Spall, Laurent and Larry Nicolas Bourgeois, and the newly added Emma Thompson. Directed by F. Gary Gray from a screenplay by IRON MAN's Matt Holloway and Art Marcum, the new MEN IN BLACK centers on

Tessa’s character Em trying to prove herself by joining the London MIB and being paired with the former ace Agent H, played by Hemsworth. The pair becomes involved in a murder mystery that has them traveling the globe.

Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald are producing the film, with Steven Spielberg on board as executive producer and David Beaubaire overseeing the project for Sony. The new MEN IN BLACK will be released on June 14, 2019.
