Robert Knepper to join Twin Peaks reboot

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

The reboot of Twin Peaks has been shooting in Washington State for about two weeks now, with details about as under wraps as Boris Karloff in THE MUMMY. However, little hints have been leaking out from time to time, like the casting of the gorgeous Amanda Seyfried as well as Balthazar Getty. So far the only returning cast member that has been announced is Kyle MacLachlan.

Joining this massive cast will be Robert Knepper (Heroes, HITMAN, THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL) as an as yet undisclosed character. So far, the shooting of this show is as much of a mystery as the murder of Laura Palmer. Check out the equally vague plot details:

Widely considered one of the most groundbreaking and influential broadcast series of all time, TWIN PEAKS followed the inhabitants of a quaint northwestern town who were stunned after their homecoming queen Laura Palmer is shockingly murdered. The town’s sheriff welcomed the help of FBI agent Dale Cooper, who came to town to investigate the case.

As Cooper conducted his search for Laura’s killer, the town’s secrets were gradually exposed. The mystery that ensued set off an eerie chain of events that plunged the inhabitants of Twin Peaks into a darker examination of their very existence. Twenty-five years later, the story continues…

The series is being penned by Lynch and Twin Peaks co-creator Mark Frost. Reportedly, David Lynch is shooting the series as a film, which he will later convert into episodes. So he's pulling a reverse MULHOLLAND DR. on us. Look for Twin Peaks in 2016!
