New Texas Chainsaw prequel Leatherface will feature Sally & Franklin's dad

Are you excited for the new TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE prequel LEATHERFACE? I know you are. We all are. But I just might have some cool info to make you even MORE excited about the film's (eventual) release...

Turns out we will be meeting a character named Ted Hardesty in the new CHAINSAW picture... If that last name sounds familiar to you, well it SHOULD, as the character is none other than the father of the original film’s Sally and Franklin Hardesty!

This reveal all came about as Bloody Disgusting noticed this little detail on the IMDb page for the upcoming Texas Chainsaw flick LEATHERFACE:

As you can see, plain as day, IMDb has actor Julian Kostov listed as playing Ted Hardesty. After noticing this, the BD guys decided to dig a bit deeper and approached LEATHERFACE writer Seth M. Sherwood for an explanation.

Here's what he told them:

Yes, Ted Hardesty is Sally’s dad. There was a later scene that went into it, but it was cut for budget reasons. I don’t know if we ever hear Ted’s last name in the movie as it is– but he’s there briefly. I mean, Grandpa Hardesty’s farm was in walking distance of the Sawyers, sooooo...

That makes total sense, right? LEATHERFACE as we all know is a prequel to the original Tobe Hooper flick, and if that's the case, then Sally and Franklin's pop would have been living next door, so to speak, from the Sawyer's farmhouse of horrors! Nice.

Here's the new LEATHERFACE flick's synopsis via IMDb:

Prequel about teenage Leatherface who escapes from a mental hospital with three other inmates, kidnaps a young nurse and takes her on a road trip from hell. Along the way, they are pursued by an equally deranged lawman out for revenge.

LEATHERFACE is directed by Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo (INSIDE). Unfortunately, there is currently no official release date set for the flick.

But we'll let you know as soon as we hear more

Extra Tidbit: LEATHERFACE is rated R for strong bloody violence, disturbing images, language and some sexuality/nudity
