Say What? Joe Dante’s The Hole gets dug up, dusted off, gets new trailer & release

And I thought a 28 month hold on THE APPARITION set visit was long…

Joe Dante’s THE HOLE, which was long thought to be filled up and forgotten about, has been randomly exhumed here in the states. Yahoo! Movies has just premiered a new trailer for horror-film-lite, even suggesting a September 28th theatrical release. Pretty f*ckin’ crazy for a movie we haven’t written about since January of 2011!

With Haley Bennett (below), Chris Massoglia, Nathan Gamble, Bruce Dern, Teri Polo and Quinn Lord onboard – THE HOLE grows deeper when:

Susan and her sons Dane and Lucas Thompson move from Brooklyn to Bensonville, in the countryside. Dane is upset with the constant changes of address and the family has lived in many cities. Lucas and Dane befriend their next door neighbor, the gorgeous Julie and the brothers find a bottomless hole in the basement of their house locked with several padlocks. They take the locks off and sooner they are haunted by their darkest fears. Further, they believe that the hole might be a gateway to hell.

I’m still shocked THE HOLE’s finally seeing the light…
