Shark thriller 47 Meters Down, starring Mandy Moore, has 5 clips online

47 Meters Down Johannes Roberts

Director Johannes Roberts' shark thriller 47 METERS DOWN came so close to being released on home video in the United States last year (under the title IN THE DEEP) that some copies even made it out into the world and have already been watched by those who were lucky enough to obtain them. Those of us who didn't get our hands on those official DVDs will be able to make first-time viewings of 47 METERS DOWN a theatrical experience, as the movie is scheduled to reach the big screen on June 16th (and the standee that's currently in some theatres is pretty cool.)

Just under two weeks out from the theatrical release, five clips from the film have been released online. These clips can be seen below, assembled into one video along with the trailer.

Scripted by Roberts and Ernest Riera, 47 METERS DOWN has the following synopsis:

On the rebound after a devastating break-up, Lisa is ready for adventure while on vacation in Mexico. Even still, she needs a little extra persuasion when her daring sister Kate suggests they go shark diving with some locals. Once underwater in a protective cage, Lisa and Kate catch a once in a lifetime, face-to-face look at majestic Great Whites. But when their worst fears are realized and the cage breaks away from their boat, they find themselves plummeting to the bottom of the seabed, too deep to radio for help without making themselves vulnerable to the savage sharks, their oxygen supplies rapidly dwindling. 47 METERS DOWN is a terrifying tale of survival set in the domain of the ocean's fiercest creatures.

Mandy Moore, Claire Holt, Matthew Modine, and Yani Gellman star.

Presented in chronological order, the clips show us the sisters getting prepared for their underwater excursion, give a glimpse of the accident that gets them trapped underwater, and then there's some shark action.

JAWS really messed me up as a kid, giving me recurring nightmares about sharks and ensuring that I will never go swimming in the ocean. Because of that childhood trauma, I'm always interested in seeing a good shark thriller (and there's not that many good ones), so I'm rooting for 47 METERS DOWN.
